Dear Reader,

I am always open to receiving creative ideas for a new story, or a new character from the world around me. I try to keep my mind open to possibilities. I’m not always successful, but I try. I like to go in search of people and places that I know will bring me a little spark. You’ve probably guessed by now that I love the beach and I often go there for both inspiration and relaxation.

The seawall

This weekend we spent a lot of time at the beach and walking along the seawall at Ft. Monroe. Both appear frequently in my books and for good reason. My first office job was in an office with the Army on Ft. Monroe back in the late 1980s when it was still an active Army post. My grandfather worked there until his retirement; in charge of grounds maintenance. So it has a special place in my heart. There is a lot of history out there besides the beautiful views, a wonderful lighthouse and sandy beaches.

When I wasn’t out seeking inspiration, I was relaxing at home with these cuties; Velvet, Olive and Timmy. All three are rescues and Velvet came from an abusive home, but you would never know it now. She loves pets and cuddles.

Book update: I am editing Her Private Chef and outlining my the next Gates Point story. The working title is The Cottage. I bring James “Mac” McIntire back for his own story. You already know Mac is an all around tough guy, with a badass muscle car and an attitude to back it all up. It is going to be fun to see what kind of girl can capture his heart and hold him.

New and exciting: You can now buy me a cup of coffee if you are enjoying the content here. Come check my coffee club.

Until next time. Love and Hugs.
