Dear Reader,
We are certainly living in unprecedented times, I was working one day a week at my day job and telecommuting the other four days, as of this week I am telecommuting all five days, as my employer takes extra precautions.
I’ve never had the opportunity to work remotely before now and so it is a very new experience, adjustments had to be made. It took me a few days to get into the groove, but I have learned a few things about myself from this new experience. For example I have always been a night owl. I could work my day job 8-5 and then come home and stay up until 1:00 am, get up at 6:30am the next morning and with a little coffee do it all over again. But, now that my commute is all of five minutes and I can sleep a little longer, I find that I am turning into a morning person. I enjoy getting up and taking a few minutes to relax and enjoy breakfast and get some writing done before I log into my day job. I also separate work and home more than I used to, and surprisingly I find it easier to turn work off when it is just in the next room. I no longer have to go to the office to “take care” of something that arises unexpectedly and that is a wonderful feeling.
I hope that you are safe and well and have the opportunity to use this time for a little self care, physically and emotionally.
