The End and the Beginning

Dear Reader,

Here in the U.S. now that the Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone. The friends and family have gathered, turkey’s cooked, the dishes washed and good times were had by all. It brings November to a close, and with it NaNoWriMo. Congratulations to all those who completed their goals and a special congratulations who those who may not have completed their goals but were brave enough to start and hopefully made some new writing friends and learned a few things during the journey.

With Thanksgiving behind us, the Christmas season begins in earnest. I know some radio stations began playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving and stores opened Thanksgiving at 5pm or later for people to get a jump on the holiday shopping. I prefer to call Black Friday, Green and Red Friday, because I choose to stay home and start decorating for Christmas and preparing to send Christmas cards. I still love to send and receive cards. The madness of Black Friday does not appeal to me in the least. And I prefer to support my local small businesses.

While out shopping remember small business Saturday. And don’t forget that a self published author is a small business. Remember to look for a local author when supporting your local businesses.

I hope as we approach the holiday season, you are preparing to enjoy your holiday. I know not everyone celebrates Christmas, but I hope you are ready to enjoy the festivities of your holidays.
