Falling Over Myself

Dear Reader,

Doesn’t Friday feel wonderful? It certainly feels fall-like today with the temps only in the low 60’s F. I know to many parts of the world that isn’t considered cold, but on the east coast of Virginia it is a little chilly especially in the mornings when it is in the 40s. I am a warm weather person. You will never hear me complain about the heat, but I do not enjoy anything less than 70F. I don’t need a sweater or a coat, but I do not enjoy it. I love the warmth of the sun and the soft green grass.

That being said, the leaves in fall are beautiful and I enjoy all the various colors and hues. Nature is a wonderful thing.

My time management has been challenging this week. I have not spent as much time writing as I had planned or wanted, but you know what? That is okay because, that is how it is sometimes and today is a new day and I will endeavor to meet my goals today. When you are trying to be creative, sometimes life gets in the way, there are appointments that must be scheduled, other people who need you to help them in one way or another. And all of that is fine, just don’t forget it is okay for you to come first. You can still prioritize your needs at the top of the list too. That doesn’t mean you are inconsiderate or selfish, but you can’t care for others if you don’t care for yourself and that means, meeting your creating goals.

So tonight, after family time and dinner time, there will be me time. Other family members will also be free to take care of themselves at the same time, they can be creative, or relax with a movie or a book. But, I will have my laptop and I will be working.

I have a new goal. While I will be finishing up book 3 in my sci/fi genre I want to write a contemporary romance novella for Christmas. So I am sharing that with you to be accountable for my commitments. What do you think a 200 page novella before Christmas? Sure I can do it. You want to write along with me? Drop me a line and we can encourage one another.
