Fall is a very exciting time of year for writing. The air is getting crisp there leaves are a exploding with color and Novemeber is NaNoWriMo. Now, if you haven’t tried your hand at writing before you may be wondering what the yet NaNoWriMo is, well good question.
National Novel Writing Month is November. And the challenge is to write 50,000 words in the month of November. It is a great way to get started on your writing adventure. I started participating back in 2009. I highly encourage you to give it a try even if you’ve got that novel in a drawer you wrote in college or on your vacation. It is time to dust off those writing ideas and put them out in the world. There is no need to be intimidated or nervous about NaNoWriMo, they have tons of support to help you and encourage you during the month. If you are more of a social creatures there are all sorts of groups online and in person. I bet you can find one in your area to meet up with to encourage one another and discuss your ideas. It is a great way to get started writing and develop healthy writing habits and to meet others in the same stage of the journey as you!
Also, this month to help you get ready for NaNoWriMo, Story Bundle has a NaNoWriMo special. If you haven’t tried StoryBundle you are seriously missing out. They other a collection of books, in various genres and you pay what you want for them. Now, if you pay a certain amount they throw in some bonus books as well. Last month I paid $20 for twelve cooksbooks and DIY crafts. This month they have a bundle for NaNoWriMo and another for Vampires, so check them out, you won’t be sorry.
