It is mid-summer and things are jumping here at the Press. We are having a terrific summer storm right now, the sky is so dark, the wind is blowing leaves off the trees and the thunder and lightening promising a rain in a matter of minutes. Just an hour ago it was sunny and 90 degrees.
This is weather is quite normal in south east coast of Virginia in August. Some of the worst thunder storms are in August. But, with all of this wrath and fury where is much beautiful as well. This morning I collected a basketful of cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, and cantaloupe, as well as, basil, rosemary and oregano in the garden.
I also added some fruit to our butterfly watering station. Actually, the bees seem to like it, too.
