Dear Reader,
I was going to share with you a little bit about my day and writing goals as I have been doing during NaNoWriMo, but it all seems to pale in comparison to what is happening in the world. Not the least of which is the great sadness for the passing of Stan Lee.
If your not a comic book fan you probably don’t know a great deal about him, but you’re probably familiar with his work. Spiderman, the X-Men, the Black Panther, I could go on, but you get the picture. The world will truly be wanting for this man’s creative energy.
Let’s not forget to remember those who have already lost their homes and lives in the California wildfires, and think and pray for those who are in the fire’s path. Send your positive energy to the brave men and women working desperately to put the fires out.
As we observe Veteran’s Day here in the U.S. let us remember those who serve to safeguard our freedoms. Our freedoms of self-expression in whatever form that may take; for me it is novels, for Stan Lee, it was movies and comic books, and a variety of stories, for others it may be music, painting, sculpting, blogging. However you chose to express yourself, thank a veteran for the freedom to do it. Not everyone has a voice in some parts of the world or the freedom of expression and just think of all the beauty and art the world is missing because of that lack of freedom.
I realize this post is a bit somber, but it is a very sad day.
You’ll be missed Stan Lee.
