Dear Reader,
As an author, the spoken word is nothing something I give a lot of thought to on a daily basis. Words are necessary and are as natural as breathing. Throughout the course of the day, we use our verbal skills to communicate with our friends, family, and co-workers. And while we might think about them to the extent that we do not want to hurt someone’s feelings or say something inappropriate or that we might regret, we don’t think about them or least I don’t think about them as much as I do the written word. The written word takes careful planning, crafty, massaging into the message we want to convey. Sometimes this act is quite impossible or frustrating.
But, once you string what you believe are the right words to tell your story, the spoken word can then add life to those written words. One such artist who turns written words into wonderful spoken words is Heather August. She is the narrator of The Deceived. She gives so much life to my story, it makes me feel like I’m hearing it for the first time. Heather and I will be working on the audio for Gray’s Requiem soon. But, until then check out The Deceived on audible.
